Guatemala boasts a variety of growing regions and conditions that produce spectacular coffees. After a setback of Coffee Leaf Rust in Latin America, Guatemala is now producing quality coffee due to the diversity of the industry's producers. There are more and more small holder farmers producing exceptional coffee at high altitudes. Cooperatives are becoming more appealing to so many smallholders because they often offer farmers financing and other support for improving their farming and processing and are frequently able to offer higher prices than middlemen.
This coffee is from the South Coast (Departments of Suchitepequez, Retalhuleu and Escuintla) of Guatemala and is Hard Bean grown at altitudes between 900 and 1,200 meters above sea level. This coffee was developed through a strategic partnership to impact the very poor South Coast region. As a result, coffee has become the main economic activity for the South Coast and is changing lives.
Guatemalan coffee favors notes of citrus, some nuttiness and slight floral.
Available in medium or dark roast, you will enjoy its brightness and taste of citrus and floral notes.

"I drink this coffee day and night. It's intense, but not bitter, it's rich and smooth with a ton of flavor on the back end. It's robust yet smooth flavor that doesn't get lost in your mouth. All the notes come through in harmony." Gene Nipper, Mandeville

Owner/Roaster
As a twenty years plus member of the Foodservice industry, I decided it was time to go out on my own. Coffee has always been woven into my work experience and my curiosity and thirst for more coffee knowledge led me to roasting. I have no regrets!
